Petra Ravbar is a 28-years-old dancer, choreographer, dance coach who teaches and trains at Bolero dance center in Ljubljana. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine, where she is completing her studies in nursing.
Dance is her first and true, pure love. She started dancing in kindergarten, and more seriously she started dancing at the age of 6. Her coach and second mother was Romana Pahor, because of her Petra also started dancing at Bolero Dance Club. Petra has been competing and training for 12 years now under the guidance of coach Matevž Česn, who she says is her second father and role model.
She has been competing for more than 18 years and in her competitive career she has won more than 34 medals at world, European championships and World Cup competitions in the genres of show dance, jazz and modern. She has achieved more than 26 national championship titles in solo, duo and group routines.
Her days are entirely dedicated to dance, she trains alone for several hours a day, and she also teaches other groups in Bolero.
She will definitely remember the years 2018 and 2019 as special ones. In 2018, together with Tian Ćehič, they choreographed the junior modern formation "Choice", which won 3rd place at the World Championships, and the dancers were also the winners of the World Cup in Prague. In 2019, Petra and her group defended 3rd place at the World Championships in Ossa with the choreography “In search of”.
Her favorite discipline is jazz, so she loves to choreograph jazz routines. She has quite a few dancers who achieve excellent results in national and international competitions. In her choreography, Lara Šlibar won the title of European Champion in 2018 in juniors, and she was also a World Cup winner. In 2019, Lara Šlibar with Petra's choreography achieved 3rd place at the World Championships in the adults solo female category. Iva Senica was the vice-European champion in jazz solo children in Prague 2019. In the junior category of jazz duos, Sara Istenič and Ela Jakolič achieved 3rd place at the European Championships.
2018 was also very special for her, as she also became the world champion in modern duos with Tian Ćehić for the first time. Together with the same routine, they were also third in the prestigious "Best of the best IDO Gala competition" in Genoa. In 2019, they also won the title of European champions in the adults category. Another special result is the bronze medal she won with her jazz solo in Prague at the 2019 European Championships.
She also loves performing on television and theater stages. Petra participated in the performances Dance Amore, in the musical Gossip or a lot of noise for nothing (MGL), in the shows Slovenia has talent, Ema, Everything is possible, Good morning… She also performed with various musicians (Tinkara Kovač, Saša Lendero, Alenka Godec, Imset,…), in 2017 she performed at the concert of renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli in the Ljubljana Arena Stožice. She has participated in the filming of various music and dance videos.
Petra is educated at various dance workshops in Slovenia and abroad. In February 2021, she successfully completed her training at the Slovenian Dance organization as a professional dance coach.. Petra has toured as a coach in various European countries, and also teaches online dance classes abroad.
